Members and Friends of the Critical
Facilities Round Table,
Please accept this invitation to join us for
our next quarterly meeting on Friday, June 24th at 8:30 AM
at KAISER
PERMANENTE in Walnut Creek. This event is
made available to all critical facilities owners and operators at no cost for
membership or attendance. Many thanks to Larry Vogen and Larry
Geiger for providing the refreshments, the
planning, and the facilities that have made this event possible.
This time
we will focus on Asset Protection Planning and
Technologies. We will hear from two consultants that specialize in Fire Protection,
Security and Risk Management. They will provide us with
detailed technical descriptions, case studies and analysis of the implementation of their most successful data
center solutions.
Then, we will Tour Kaiser Permanente's Corporate
Enterprise Data Center,
including their 2N to 2N+1 electrical backup systems. We will also
see two server areas which are managed differently for
cooling. One area is laid out in a hot aisle/ cold aisle configuration and the other is in a different configuration.

Critical Facilities" by Dominic DeMaria, President,
Diversified Protection Systems
Dominic DeMaria is President of Diversified Protection Systems, Inc. (DPSI) a nationally recognized authority on fire prevention, detection, and suppression for data centers, telecommunications, and
industrial operations. Mr. DeMaria has been involved with critical facilities fire protection
planning and systems implementation for over 26 years, overseeing an estimated
10 million square feet in projects. He
has acted as an advisor with the South Coast Air Quality Management District
(AQMD) for Halon 1301 and is a member of the National Fire Protection
Association as well as the Fire Suppression Systems Association.

Chandler, CPP, Chairman, Security by
Design
Ed Chandler has over 26 years of experience with critical facilities asset protection involving the
design of security, fire protection and data center coordination. He is recognized as an expert systems integrator of security alarms,
access control, fire detection and suppression, closed-circuit TV, intercom, and
emergency shutdown processes for computer facilities. He is a registered CPP via the American
Society of Industrial Security, belongs to NFPA, ASIS and ALA, and holds a
degree in Physics from UC Berkeley and an advanced degree from Cal State
Hayward.
