Improvements" Chuck
Shalley, PE and President of The Engineering

the bay area and provided services to several data center owners in the bay
area. Chuck will discuss his methods for assessing the
reliability and performance of a data center, how to develop and
prioritize recommendations for improvement, and how to estimate and
justify costs for the implementation of these recommendations.

of recommendations.

Networking with Other Data Center Operators 10:45 "Total Cost of Ownership Analysis for Data
Center Projects" Jerry Inguatiato, SVP and Shap
Roder, VP, CB Richard Ellis Jerry and
Shap Roder have completed more data center real estate transactions in the
Bay Area than any other real estate services company. Their expertise in
the datacenter real estate market helps their clients evaluate their
options and make informed decisions. They will discuss how to compare data
center site and facility alternatives using total cost of ownership
methods. He will show us how to consider 1. upgrades to an existing
facility, 2. migration to a collocation site, and 3. migration to a new
facility. Relocation, capital and operating costs will all be
considered in the final equation for determining the most cost
effective strategy for improving data center operations. Ideas on
how to best present this analysis to your executive management will also
be discussed.
