Dear Members and Guests of the Critical Facilities Round Table,

Please accept this invitation to support The Green Grid Technical Forum coming to Silicon Valley the first week in February of 2010.  Many of our own CFRT members organize and manage TGG’s activities and conferences. 

In addition to the Technical Forum, The Green Grid is hosting EPA’s Energy Star Server & Storage Stakeholder Information Workshops the day before the Forum.
There are 3 exciting days of activities with distinct and unique content to participate in, as follows:

          February 2 (Tuesday 10-12:30 & 1:30-4) – EPA’s Energy Star Server and Storage Stakeholder Information Workshops
          February 3 (Wednesday from 9 to 5) -- TGG Members Technical Forum and Members Meeting
          February 4 (Thursday from 8 to 4:30) -- TGG Public Technical Forum, including keynote by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (http://www.robertfkennedyjr.com)     

I.  The EPA meeting on February 2nd is open to the general public at no cost!   EPA will continue it's public development of Energy Star compliance specifications for server and storage technologies seeking input and ideas from the Silicon Valley data center community.  RSVP before January 22nd for these two meetings at servers@energystar.gov for the 10-12:30 server workshop and at storage@energystar.gov for the 1:30-4 storage workshop.

II.  TGG member company employees can attend both days of the TGG technical conference on February 3rd & 4th.  The members-only activities on 3/3 includes three tracks of presentations addressing "Technology & Tools", "PUE/ DCiE", and "Liason & Region Reports".  The agenda and activities for both days is at http://www.thegreengrid.org/en/events/tech-forum-2010.aspx.

III. TGG non-members can attend the public sessions on February 4th.  The agenda and activities for February 4th conference can be seen at the link above.  It includes more of the three tracks described above as well as several super-sessions about global data center initiatives. 
All CFRT members will be given a 10% discount off the regular registration fee (if you are in receipt of this email you are eligible for the discount).  You may register at http://www.thegreengrid.org/events/tech-forum-2010.aspx
Enter Discount Code 10cfrt10 on the first registration page after selecting whether or not your company is a TGG member (if in doubt, check the TGG member list at http://www.thegreengrid.org/about-the-green-grid/member-list.aspx).  Public attendees can participate on February 4th while attendees from TGG member companies can participate on February 3rd and 4th.  This discount applies only to CFRT members who have not yet registered.  And, the discount rate period will end on January 28th.

Attendees will have an opportunity to choose from a variety of sessions that will help them increase efficiency in their data centers. Public attendees are invited to participate on February 4th and attendees of The Green Grid’s member companies can attend the conference on February 3 and 4. The keynote on February 4 will be delivered by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (see http://www.robertfkennedyjr.com).  Mr. Kennedy’s reputation as a resolute defender of the environment stems from a litany of successful legal actions. Mr. Kennedy was named one of Time magazine's “Heroes for the Planet” for his success helping Riverkeeper restore the Hudson River. The group’s achievement helped spawn over 130 Waterkeeper organizations.

Technical Forum attendees will:

  • Learn what other companies have done and what they can do to improve data center efficiency;
  • Discuss The Green Grid Grid’s initiatives and deliverables including the Data Center Design Guide, PUE metric, regulatory and legislative trends, efficiency tools, etc.
  • Provide input on completed and future projects;
  • Discuss The Green Grid’s global collaboration with other industry organizations and government agencies; and
  • Network with industry colleagues!

As a benefit of membership, representatives of The Green Grid’s member companies can register to attend both days of the conference, February 3 and 4, for $250.  Representatives of non-member companies can register to attend the public sessions at the conference on February 4 for $500.
